In the preface to the book titled The Acts of the Apostles, the following statement is made: "The abruptness with which the book of Acts closes is not accidental; it deliberately suggests that the thrilling narrative is unfinished, and that the acts of God through the Spirit are to have their sequel throughout the Christian dispensation—each successive generation adding a chapter full of beauty and power to the one that preceded it."

Thus the acts of God are ongoing, never-ending... Every son and daughter of Adam and Eve has played, is playing or will play a role. Everyday, events occur that change lives forever. The news that 97,344 people have been baptised in one single series of evangelistic meetings in Rwanda is proof of point (read the article here).

I was watching YouTube videos on the testimonies of some Adventists recently, when my then 14-year old son expressed wonder at how wonderful things happen to some people and then expressed regret that he has not experienced anything like that. I pointed out to him that many of these people travelled arduous routes on their way home. What a privilege it is to be born into the church, with none of the hazardous detours experienced by others, all you have to do is strengthen and arm yourself with truth daily and live a life approved of by God.

But the interchange made me realise that there are many more stories to be told and many more people who would love to hear them. Therefore this platform has been created, to enable Seventh Day Adventists to chronicle their walk with God. Each one of us has stories to tell, some stories are daring, some are miraculous, some are heart warming, some are heart wrenching and some are downright ordinary but not ONE is to be discounted.

And maybe, by connecting with one another in this way, we will take a step closer to the unity Christ prayed for, a unity not defined by nationality, race, geographical location, class, education, economics, gender and all other meaningless things.
